With these photographs, I experimented with extreme close ups. I chose food and drink because i thought it would be exciting to experiment with different types of food mixed together. My goal was to make the foods unrecognisable however i liked the way the colours of the juice and water blended. The background is very white and very bright, almost flourescent which brings out the colours even more. |
For my second experiment i researched ingredients for pancakes therefore i would know what to include in the deconstruction. I wanted to make this experiment a lot different to my juice experiment because i have experienced two different things in one subject. However i did not want them to be similar i wanted them to be completely different with different responses from class mates. And to prove I can show an arrange of techniques and contrast in styles even though it's the same subject. |
WWW: I like these photographs because they have been taken close up they show all of the detail. The detail creates a pattern which is herringbone
The colours are eye catching, outstanding and light because the bright white light acts as such a contrast. The orange has changed colours with the light creating a variety of oranges and browns, these colours remind me of Autumn. This outcome has made me want to experiment with different types of colours. EBI: i would like to improve the contrast making some colours really bright and other colours very dim. I would also like to change the composition, I would like the photo to be taken from different angles and positions. Final Piece
This is my final piece. I laid them step by step therefore people viewing the image will understand what's happening in the photograph. In the image i have realised it changed colour whilst the liquid being pored into it, i kept the image simple. i chose to display it portrait because the liquid flows in the same direction. |
By creating this image i combined two fruits together. I was inspired by Lorenzo Viturri because i like how be improvises and mixes fruits in different ways. This did not take me long to do. i wanted it to be a simple image, in my perspective it turned out to be a simple image just the way i wanted it to. |
This is a screenshot of the ingredients when i researched about pancake destruction therefore i would know what to use in this project to take the photograph.
This was my pancake deconstruction. I attempted to keep everything in place therefore it would look neat, however i had to use things such as an egg cup for the milk and a plastic lid for the flour. If i did not include these things everything would have been messy and not presentable. I got the idea from an image which inspired me of google. My experiment did not turn out the way I wanted it to, the comparison is a lot different although i did not want it to make it look exactly like the image below i wanted to make mine more realistic.

Evaluation
For unit 1 the artists i researched, I took inspiration from during the food and drink project was Lorenzo Vitturi and Carl Kleiner. They both inspired me with the work because its something unusual and interesting. I first discovered these artists during a photography lesson and learned more during Pinterest. A most important aspect i learned from Lorenzo Vitturi's work is that he used something ordinary which people see everyday such as creating unusual sculptures from fruit and vegetables and made into something new, therefore he inspired me to want my work to be related to his. Lorenzo's images stood out to me most because they influenced my second final piece.
Throughout the time of planning making my final pieces I enjoyed learning about the photographers techniques and angles and liked viewing the comparison of all their photographs. I decided to do a photo shoot where i experimented photographing food and drink. I started with photographing the bottle then different types of food on the light box. I then took a camera home and improvised how to create different thinks in a specific manner such as, i got an apple and pear. I then sliced them into pieces and made them collaborate therefore i could have a mixed fruit picture. On the other hand i attempted to make a deconstruction a little similar to the google image above. During this process i had difficulties of placing the flour, egg and oil etc alongside a counter tool. I then included containers so i could allow the deconstruction to be clear and not messy.
